Regatta catamaran EXPLODER 20 The catamaran is designed by Wojciech Kaliski and Ryszard Partycki for sailing at moderate breeze and wave, what often occurs at coastal races such like „Round Texel”.
Naming of the yacht has taken place in August 2005. At present two Exploders are training in Sopot. They have already an official Texel rating confirmed by the surveyor in the Netherlands.
The best results of Exploders: - I and II place in Marine Catamaran Championship Open - Sopot, September 2005, - IX and XI place (absolute) in catamaran race around Tiengemeten in the Netherlands (more than 180 catamarans took part in the race) - September 2005, - I and II place in the „Blue Ribbon of Gdańsk Bay” - 2005, - I and XI place in the Eurocat, Carnac - May 2006.
The hulls have spacer planking made of carbon laminate and PCV construction foam. Along and crosswise bracing as well as bulkheads have been used. The beams are of monolithic carbon construction. The undermast beam transfers the duty from mast without use of the dolphin-striker. The construction composed of hulls and beams is strong and stiff. The sails, mast and rigging are similar to those used at Tornado catamaran. The beams are permanently in-laminated into the hulls. The yacht may be transported turned through 90 degrees on a truck. The catamaran is fitted with slim, movable centerboard and turnable rudder blades.
