Round Texel 2009 Team eXploder f18 - POL4 raport Main race

The day started early as we had to get up at 6 to be at time at the briefing at 8. The morning of 13th June was not astonishing – as the name may suggest – windless and sunny. Few minutes before 8 we were at the beach “Pall 17” : there were the boats and the Centre of regatta. First we pulled our catamaran to the coast and next – participated at the briefing. The briefing passed smoothly: start is foreseen at 10 but you may not expect a wind. We went back to our boat to finish the preparation, changed the “uniforms” and as almost first around 9 started to sail. Leaving of the beach was difficult as the battering of waves was great and wind very weak. We found a spot where the waves seemed to be smaller, fired up the genaker on the sand yet and – success! We had time enough to reach the start line (500 m from the spot of “launching” ) and to stir about.
